The bowler hat was designed in 1849 by the London hatmakers Thomas and William Bowler, The derby hat also known as a bob hat, bombín or bowler derby hat, is a hard felt hat with a rounded crown. The bowler became “the hat” in Europe and parts of the eastern United States. Many Immigrants would arrive on our shores wearing bowlers and would travel west wearing those hats.
They then became popular in the old west and were worn by both lawmen and outlaws alike, including Bat Masterson, Butch Cassidy, Black Bart, and Billy the Kid.
Start your next gunfight or dress up your Victorian outfit with this brown suede like derby hat.
