Betsy Ross Colonial Woman Costume Accessory Set. The original American Flag, with 13 stars that are arranged in a circle, was supposedly made by Betsy Ross, a colonial woman that lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, there is no credible historical evidence to support this claim, but Betsy Ross stands as an important historical figure because she represents women in patriotic American involvement. Some say she at least had a part in constructing and editing the flag, saying she may have changed the design of the flag from having 6-pointed stars, to easier 5-pointed stars. If you're paying homage to this historical American woman with a book report, research paper project, or lesson, this costume kit is a great way to keep the audience interested and engaged while you present your biography. This kit consists of a white, cotton polyester blend mop cap hat with lace trim, a poly propylene miniature flag on a plastic stick (with the original colonial design) and a white/silver polypropylene wig in a shoulder length curly style. This set is one size fits most set. The mop cap is designed more to sit on top of the wig, rather than fit over it. The wig may be large on young children.
These Historical costume kits are designed to help put the finishing touches on many of our costumes. We sell most of our historical clothing as separates; this allows you to create your very own personal outfit.
Most synthetic Costume Wigs are one size. They have a built in stretch mesh netting that can fit both adults and children alike. We recommend wearing a nylon wig cap under our Costume Wigs as it helps maintain stability and placement of the wig. Depending on whether you have hair or not, this wig cap will keep the hair in place and allow for a more comfortable fit. If you don’t have hair, it will help maintain placement and enable a cooler fit.
Made of 100% synthetic hair.
