A Heritage Costumes Exclusive.
Alexander the Great was truly the greatest of his time — and still today, the former ruler of Ancient Greece is highly lauded for his incredible accomplishments as both a king and a military man. Born Alexander III of Macedon in July 356 BC, the man who came to be known as Alexander the Great was first the king of Macedonia, following in his father’s footsteps as a member of the Argead dynasty. When Alexander took charge of the throne, he quickly became famous for his military prowess and incredible conquering skill.
What made Alexander the Great such a great leader was his unprecedented military campaign that consumed much of his rule over Ancient Greece. His empire and rule conquered and controlled lands from Asia to Africa, from Greece to Egypt. Alexander the Great took charge of one of the largest empires in the ancient world — and he was undefeated in battle. Known today as one of the history’s most successful military commanders, Alexander the Great developed military weaponry, restructured borders around the world, and even established the city of Alexandria in his name.
