A Heritage Costumes Exclusive.
When Christmas comes each year, there’s a whole host of Christmas plays beloved by all and revisited in holiday plays, performances, and other mediums. Yet no Christmas play is as recognizable as A Christmas Carol
Bob Cratchit first appeared as a supporting character of Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella A Christmas Carol. When the novel begins, Cratchit is the abused, underpaid clerk of Ebenezer Scrooge (and possibly Jacob Marley, when he was still alive). He is the father of Timothy "Tiny Tim" Cratchit the ill youngest child in the Cratchit houshold. Cratchit has come to symbolize poor working conditions, especially long working hours.
An exclusive piece in our Heritage Costumes Dickens collection of quality costume clothing, this children’s Bob Cratchit costume is authentic to the Victorian era fashion of the 1800s and the attire worn by the famous literary character himself. You’ll look just like the famously overworked clerk when you don this historically accurate costume set. To capture Cratchet's attire accurately, this costume includes a long, fully lined brown Victorian frock coat, a brocade vest with an attached wing tip dickey and string tie, and a pair of tan pants. Complete the look with the included plaid scarf and Victorian top hat. You’ll look the part with this costume set straight out of the 19th century.
Of course, every Charles Dickens Christmas character needs a few accessories, too. Add to the realistic quality of your 19th century Victorian outfit with our Victorian accessories like white gloves, white shoe spats, a long wig, and a black cane. If you’d like to enhance your Bob Cratchit attire with our Heritage Costume accessories (which are not included with the purchase of this costume), you can pair this costume outfit with these options from our wide selection of added details to create your very own personalized costume.
This high-quality Bob Cratchit costume can be used for school events, play, or child’s Christmas pageant or play. Made with pride and care right in the United States, this kids’ Bob Cratchit famous people costume is built to last.
